Thanksgiving Day is Thursday, November 27th, & I want to take this opportunity to "Thank You" Chicagoland for 119 AMAZING years!!! The first Thanksgiving Day was more of a traditional English harvest festival which actually lasted three days! The Pilgrims reached Plymouth in 1620 & faced a terrible winter in which around 46 of the original 102 died by the following fall. The harvest of the next year was abundant & the colonists decided to celebrate with a feast & invited 91 Native Americans who had helped them survive their 1st year. The more you know... Happy Thanksgiving, Chicagoland!!!
